Our house is a two story house with a rooftop terrace. First floor: entrance room, living room with a fireplace, dining room, and kitchen. There is an exit from the kitchen to a small outdoor enclosed patio. Second floor: master bedroom, second bedroom with two twin beds, bathroom with bathtub/shower and washing machine. The second floor has an exit to a terrace. From the second bedroom, stairs lead to a large (40 square meters) rooftop terrace, partly covered with bamboo pergola.
Local Area DetailsGaucin is one of the nicest pueblos blancos, or white villages, of Andalucia, the southern region of Spain. The village is located on top of a mountain with spectacular views. On a clear day it is possible to see Gibraltar, the Mediterranean Sea, and even the coast of North Africa. The village contains the ruins of a Moorish castle dating to the year 1000, several restaurants (from end of March to end of October) , small shops, bars serving Spanish Tapas (small snacks), an outdoor public swimming pool (open during the summer), a public market open mornings with vendors selling vegetables, fish, etc., two banks (with ATM machine), a pharmacy and a medical clinic.
By car, it is 30 minutes to the nearest beach on the Costa del Sol in San Luis de Sabinillas, 45 minutes to Estepona, 1 hour to Gibraltar, 1 hour to Marbella, 1 1/2 to 2 hours to Malaga and 45 minutes to Ronda. The nearest airports are Malaga and Gibraltar.
