Lofer lies nestled by the Loferer, the Reither and the Leoganger Steinberge mountains, at the confluence of the major valley routes between Salzburg to the North, Saalfelden and Zell am See to the South and Kitzbuhel and Innsbruck to the West.
The village of Lofer itself lies at just over 600m altitudes, the surrounding Steinberge mountains, are an accessible range of peaks of around 2500m.
Only a short distance away is
Austria's highest peak the Grossglockner, at a height of 3797m.
Lofer is a snow-secure, family-friendly and budget-priced ski resort, offering 58 km of perfectly prepared pistes or boundless off piste skiing in powder snow, 50 snow cannons providing complete coverage
The various 14 lifts ensure safe, comfortable ascent with very little queuing, leading up to the 1,700m high Grughorndl and Schonbichl peaks, then down the Lofer Alm and the 9km long run right down in to the valley. There are 6 live web cameras watching every exciting scene. Excellent ski schools and children's ski clubs with experienced instructors
The ski lift is only a 5-minute walk from Haus Patricia or there is a small ski bus that passes the house. 80 km cross-country ski trails with 6km of high altitude tracks in the Lofer Alm where the snow is practically guaranteed accessible via the cable car
