In the authentically spanish village of Caniles, nearly 1000m above sea level, our apartment offers a real taste of traditional spanish life. An hours drive from two major airports, by day you can experience the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding Andalucian countryside, and in the evening sample the local delicacies and the local's renowned hospitality. We advise that you hire a car. The apartment comes with a lounge and kitchen/dining area, a main bathroom and extra toilet, 3 bedrooms and a fantastic private roof-top sun terrace that isn't overlooked. The lounge has most british television channels, and the kitchen is fully fitted with washing machine, oven and fridge freezer. Lenny and Jane live in the lower half of the property, and are happy to offer advice and help to make your stay in Caniles as relaxing as possible.
Local Area DetailsSet within the Sierra de Baza national park, Caniles offers opportunity for hiking, cycling and wildlife spotting, including eagles. The Sierra Nevada is less than 45 minutes away for skiing and snowboarding. For the sun worshippers there is Lake Negratin, with its own beach and watersports available. Also at the lake are the world famous 'Banos de Zujar', thermal baths where the warm waters are pumped directly from the heart of the mountainside and are renowned for their healing powers. The region is famed for its cuisine, with traditional and modern dishes being offered in many of the areas bar's and restaurants. If you fancy a day at the seaside, the beaches of Almeria are an hour away.
