Accommodation (Sleeps two) - a one bedroom house in the historic centre of Santa Marina, which is a typical mountain community 130 miles south of Naples and 5 miles from the beach at Policastro Bussentino. Please see the pictures for the location of where Santa Marina is in Southern Italy. Included in price - All bed linen and towels, hair dryer, safe, CD-radio, beach parasol, iron & ironing board, selection of reading books, TV/DVD player, washing machine, use of electric and water, crockery & cooking utensils and fridge with ice box. The house will be cleaned prior to your stay. Not included in price - Beach towels. Parking - free parking is available approx 100 metres from the house. Airports in the area and distance from Santa Marina - Naples 130 miles north, Lamezia Terme 152 miles south, Bari 149 miles east and Brindisi 178 miles east. It is self catering accommodation with a kitchen, bedroom leading out on to a balcony with beautiful sea and mountain views, wet room with a shower, toilet and basin. It is accessed by a stepped pathway, which unfortunately is not suitable for wheelchairs. Although the location section below states that the accommodation is located at Palinuro, it is actually a little further along the coast in the southerly direction. Within the mountain community of Santa Marina there are 3 bars where you can buy your typical Italian breakfast of cornetti (pastry with a selection of fillings) and coffee and a pizza restaurant (currently open Wednesday and Saturday evenings). There is also a ristorante/pizzeria/bar called La Baita, which specialises in home grown local produce cooked in the traditional Italian way and is open every evening except Tuesdays. Spread throughout Santa Marina, all within a few 100 metres there are several small shops selling food and provisions, a butchers, pharmacy, post office etc. These are the shops that the locals use and therefore cater for most needs. For the nearest supermarket you would need to go to Policastro Bussentino, which is about 5 miles away and also has a selection of restaurants, bars and other small shops. Policastro also has a large beach and is the closest one to Santa Marina.
