La Torre Resort is located in Murcia, one of the smaller regions of Spain. Located between the Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol, The Costa Calida is aptly named translating to the warm coast. Being famous for the exceptional climate, La Torre Resort is in the prime position with over 320 days of sunshine per year on average. Compared with the weather in the UK, the temperatures in Murcia are on average 10ºC warmer. With over 3000 hours of sunshine every year in the mild climate, it supplies La Torre Resort with outstanding golfing weather. Average temperatures during the summer months are 27ºC dropping to a moderate but warm 17ºC in the winter. Due to the region boasting 320 days of sunshine per year, the average annual temperature is 21ºC. The winters in The Costa Calida are very mild; rain fall is very unusual with temperatures rarely dropping below 10ºC. The Murcia area is host to more than 40km of sandy beaches between two seas. This means you can enjoy the warm clear waters of up to 30ºC in the Mar Menor, or enjoy the slightly cooler sea waves of the Mediterranean.

La Torre is an 18 hole par 68 golf course designed by Nicklaus Design. Provisional distances (metres): (black) 5,350; (blue) 4,934; (white) 4,422; (red) 3,822 It features over five hectares of sophisticated bunkers that separate the holes, creating strategic points which provided added value to the shots. Plus, a denser grass was planted around the bunkers, creating the optimum wind shot effect. It has 6 par 3's with the 11th and 17th, a carry over water of 170 yards plus 2 par 5's, both of which are approx 500 yards. Accuracy is required for the par 4's so keep that driver in your bag! The greens are in excellent condition, undulating and quite fast! It is designed to be enjoyed by both beginners and more challenging for experienced players. La Torre Resort has easy access to San Javier and Alicante airports. San Javier, Murcia (MJV) Airport is about fifteen minutes drive away with Alicante about forty minutes drive away. The new Corvera International Airport is due to open in summer 2009 and will provide even more options for flights into the area.
