Your holiday starts on arrival. You are met and transferred from Bodrum airport to your apartment, there is a welcome basket of fruit, bread, cheese, butter, eggs, beer, fruit juice and coke - just to get you started.

Essentials such as washing up liquid, soap, kitchen roll, tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil and herbs are a given, beach towels and inflatables are ready for your use and a weekly clean and linen change are all part of this package.

Furnished balcony with comfortable cushioned wicker chairs and a wooden table for alfresco dinning, cushioned sun loungers are provided. There is a charcoal BBQ if you wish.

The Ground Floor Apartment has private gardens right next to the pool which catches the cooling breeze offered by the sea and the 1 st Floor Apartment has a roof terrace ideal to watch the sun set across the Aegean with a G & T or glass of wine in hand.

Buses run just 2mins away and operate through the night to and from Bodrum and local villages. There is a taxi rank only 5 mins walk.

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

Bodrum peninsula has its own micro climate, being surrounded by sea there is a constant cooling breeze which is most welcome during the long hot summers. From November to March the days can be hot and sunny, a bit over cast or in February can be downright chilly!! Excellent time for rounds of Golf, long walks on deserted beaches and sightseeing. The season really kicks off in May when the first two weeks are perfect for sightseeing and walking. Look for wild flowers and expect sunny days with temperatures of +24C. Evenings can still be cool but pleasant and you will be able to eat outside. You may require a jumper especially if eating out on jetties over the sea. The second two weeks are warming up with temperatures rising to +28C, you may still need a jumper in the evening if eating out, especially after a day on the beach! June, July, August and September - Scorching days anything between 30C and 40C, hot nights - still take a light jacket or jumper just in case! October is very similar to May with clouds making an appearance and towards the end of October threats of showers. Perfect for Golf.

About Bars

At Flamingo Country Club there is the bar at the club house which is a good place to meet up with your fellow holiday makers, the Sunset Cafe which is a bar and restaurant 5 mins walk away, the bar on the adjacent Turquoise complex or take the mono rail down to the Beach club or stop half way down at the bars and restaurants at the infinity pool. Only 10 minutes by car from Flamingo Country Club you will find nearby local Turkish villages with delightful seafood restaurants. You can sit out alongside the sea or even on a pontoon over the sea. Choose your food and it is cooked over charcoal and served with delicious salads and crusty bread. In Bodrum there are 100s of bars, restaurants and clubs to choose from.

About Nightlife

At Flamingo Country Club there is weekly entertainment, a BBQ island and the beach club turns into a night club. Bodrum itself is one of the top holiday destinations in Turkey for night-life. When you have finished promenading around the Marina or going from bar to bar, there is still plenty to do. For some people it is the freedom to stay up all night that makes their holiday, here that is a matter of fact. Nearby Gumbet is a fantastic option for a good disco and the partying often continues until dawn. The club with undoubtedly the biggest and noisiest reputation is Halikarnas, perched on the edge of the bay. You need never visit the same club twice even if staying for 14 nights. By the way, buses run through the night back to Flamingo Country Club.

About Transport

Car hire is easy and can be arranged to be waiting for you at the airport, you will still be met and taken to Flamingo Country Club. This is by far the best option if it is available to you. It enables you to have complete freedom to explore all the out of the way beaches and villages. There is a bus which runs past Flamingo Country Club all day and up to the early hours of the night. There is also an official taxi rank only 5 mins walk from Flamingo Country Club, agree the price before getting in.

About Beaches

Artev beach can be reached by the mono rail, this is a man made 'beach' and has sun lougers and shade. There is also a pontoon and the beach club providing snacks and drinks. Only 5 mins car ride away are authentic natural Turkish beaches where there are also facilities. This is where the locals go.

About General Entertainment

At the apartments you will find a well stocked library of books and DVDs, chess, cribbage, cards and backgammon. There is a LCD wall mounted satelitte TV and an ipod docking station. At the club house there is a children's playground, giant chess, tennis, table tennis, table footbal and sky sports. There is also weekly Turkish entertainment. The nearby villages have delightful sea food restaurants which sit over the water or alongside it.

About Golfing

On site is a 6 hole golf course which offers an opportunity to get in some practice shots. For the enthusiast only 10 mins by car you will find the 18 hole PGA Vita Park Golf Course.

About Sailing

Sailing is seen around the bays, at one time Sun sail had a resort in the next bay along. There are plenty of cruises to be booked in Bodrum to neighbouring Greek Islands or take a day exploring deserted beaches and coves.

The main reason we chose these apartments was because of the natural beauty which surrounds them. The sun sets over the Aegean giving the most glorious display of colours whilst in the morning you can be greeted with the sun rise reflected in Lake Tuzla. The whole area is surrounded by misty mountains rolling into the distance.

About Family Activities

Families can go to the slide and chute pool adjacent to Flamingo Country Club or visit the giant Aqua park at Dedman just outside Bodrum. Visit one of the very many beaches around the peninsula and take part in a wide variety of water sports. Enjoy a game of tennis or giant chess and of course swimming is always an option.

About Local Attrcations

There is free use of the Turkish bath, gym and sauna. Massages and beauty treatments can be booked for a fee. Take a trip up to Ephesus or to the hot springs of Pamukale, go for the day on a Gulet sailing around the beautiful coast line visiting deserted beaches and coves. Daily cruises go to Dalyman where the mud is said to rejuvinate and restore aching limbs - give it a go.

About Local Restaurants

10 mins by car will find you in either Bogazici or Gullik - both have wonderful sea food restaurants where you can choose your fish or prawns and they are cooked over charcoal and served absolutely delicious. The scenary is striking as you sit at the water's edge or over it listening to the lapping of the water. Very serene.

About Driving

There is one main road in and out of the peninsula. This is a recently extended duel carriageway allowing fast flowing traffic. There is a road which takes you around the peninsula allowing you to call in at villages or beaches as you go. The driving is on the right hand side and petrol stations are plentiful.

About Walking

There are many beaches to walk along and areas to explore.

About History

Turkey is steeped in history and Bodrum is no exception. St Peters Castle dominates Bodrum and is well worth a visit. Ephesus is the main attraction and if you can fit it into your holiday do pay a visit. There are may amphitheaters, ruins and museums to explore at your leisure.

About Shopping

In Bodrum you will find a huge indoor market selling straight from the farm fresh fruit and vegetables, spices and leather and textiles. At the Marina are a variety of designer shops and in between you will find a Turkish Bazaar, market stalls and even M & S. There is something for everyone.
