Maison Sarcelle is a recently constructed house situated just 10 mins walk from the village of Varages, on a gently sloping hill with wonderful views over the Provencal forested hills. It is a house with three bedrooms each with its own shower room with wc. The third bedroom has a sitting room with a sofa bed so can be used as a family room. The living room is large, with french windows onto the south facing terrace. This is ideal for meals having a table and chairs and a pergola for shade in the heat of the day. It has wonderful views. You can sit here with a bottle of wine and watch the sun go down in the late evening in summer.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with dishwasher, oven, hob,fridge freezer and a washing machine. There is a door that leads to the dining area and the east facing terrace which is wonderful for breakfast and lunch if you like full sunshine.
The sitting room has comfortable chairs a wood burning stove,TV with satellite, and a music centre.
The house has its own linen and towels. The owner lives in an apartment which is connected to the house but is totally separate, with its own entrance.

The swimming pool is in a secluded position in full sunshine with more wonderful views, and is for the use of the guests in the house only. There is a large garden area also for the use of the guests only.

Local Area Details

The area around Varages is beautiful countryside with wonderful walking and cycling. The area is mosly wild forest with tracks running through them, dotted with vineyards and olive groves. There is an area in this part of the world which grows lavendar, well worth a visit in June and July, they are quite stunning. The Gorge du Verdon and the Lac St Croix is within half and hour by car, the sea at St Tropez is an hour and a half, Aix en Provence is three quaters of an hour, and the alpes about an hour. It is a very central spot if you wish to do day trips to Avignon, Arles, Nice, Italy, or the coast.
There is kayaking, rock climbing, golf, riding, and water sports all within easy distance. Not forgetting the wine tasting, and exploring the medieaval villages around of which there are numerous.
