Being right in the centre, Katerina's Guest House is ideally situated for the plentiful amenities of this pretty village. A few minutes’ walk can bring you to unique shops and country pubs or to the lovely river bank with wide, countryside views towards the Simonside Hills.

Katerina’s Guest House occupies a building which was originally part of an historic Coaching Inn.
It has been worked on and upgraded to bring past and present together in pleasing harmony and now has three beautiful en-suite bedrooms with four poster beds.
Each bedroom is decorated and colour co-ordinated to enhance its individual character. Two have original, hand-hewn stone fireplaces and beamed ceilings whilst the third, also with a four poster bed, is light, fresh and modern by contrast.
The bedrooms all have wireless internet access and are each supplied with a remote control flat screen TV with 6 channels, a clock radio, a superbly stocked tea-tray with lots of choice, a range of quality bathroom toiletries, a hairdryer, an almost silent mini-fridge and many other little perks for your enjoyment.
We give you fresh milk and tea-time treats for when you come home after a hard day's sightseeing!

In the morning come down to breakfast in our cosy dining room and sit at one of three separate dining tables.
Breakfast time is a jolly occasion with the tables close enough together to enjoy a chat for those who want to join in. Host and acting waiter, Ian, will be popping in and out from the kitchen to see if everyone has all they need and to throw in a bit of banter - or should that be the other way around?!
In our attempt to have something for everybody, we offer wide and interesting (some unusual) choices for breakfast. Fresh, warm home-made bread is available every day and you might like to "warm up" with a bowl of whisky porridge, made to order!
We have a full license to serve alcoholic beverages with evening meals which are available by arrangement ... sample Cath’s vegetarian nutballs, or Steak Katerina - an original recipe from the bygone days of her Egon Ronay recommended restaurant!

Rothbury itself is a delightful venue nestling within the beautiful countryside of the Coquet Valley and on the edge of the unspoilt Northumberland National Park.
It has a lovely river bank suitable for a gentle stroll and ideal for children to play or paddle.
The village centre is beautifully decorated with flower beds and baskets and the streets are lined with unique shops specialising in quality goods with a difference.

Local Area Details

Rothbury's central position makes it the perfect place from which to explore in all directions. To the North, Scotland, only 12 miles away. To the South the cultural centre of the North East of England, Newcastle, to the West, Hadrian's Wall (also known as the Roman Wall). And, to the East, the local Heritage Coast with white, white sand and big dunes.
This area abounds with castles, stately homes and monasteries, the most famous being on the island Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island which can be reached by a causeway at low tide.
Explore the beautiful Cheviot Hills or visit Alnwick Castle, alias Hogwarts (famous for the “Harry Potter” films) and the new Alnwick Gardens, Cragside House/Estate, Wallington House/Estate and even the Scottish Borders, all are within easy driving distance on our quiet roads.
