Castiglione del Lago stretches over a chalky cliff, which once made up one of the four islands of Trasimeno lakes. Castiglione was inhabited by the Etruscans and today we can still find many evidence and archaeological remains in the surrounding area. Castiglione offers wonderful tourist attractions such as the beach, restaurants, swimming pool, tennis places, riding and so on. Daily boat connections to the three other islands of the lakes. The position is ideal to visit other towns in Umbria like Assisi (40 km) or in Tuscany like Cortona and Montepulciano (15 km).
