A recently renovated house located in the heart of the Cure valley in Burgundy, close to the vineyards of Chablis, Auxerre and Beaune and a short distance from the beautifully preserved Morvan hills and lakes.

The dining area is 8m long with a dual aspect with stairs leading to three upstairs bedrooms.
The ground floor has two double bedrooms, a utility/shower room, a separate WC, a hall entrance, a lounge with patio doors leading to the rear garden and a kitchen diner conveniently situated near the front terrace.
The kitchen is well equipped for those that want to spend time cooking.
For indoor entertainment, the playroom upstairs has snooker, pool, table tennis, as well as an electric keyboard and a karaoke machine.
There is a second TV set in the upstairs gallery that can be used for games consoles or playing DVDs.
Board games for all ages are provided for entertainment.
Go out into the garden and have a nap in the hammock or play badminton, boules, croquet or cricket. There's plenty of room in the 2000sq m garden and there's plenty of garden furniture to relax in on those hot, summer days.

The garden is mainly lawn, surrounded by tall trees and bushes with ample space for football, rounders and other favourite family games. A hammock can be erected between two cherry trees in the garden.
The rear patio runs along the length of the house and is bathed in warm sunshine in the afternoon and evening, ideal to enjoy a summer’s evening meal. For breakfast and lunch, enjoy the sheltered front terrace with its views on the village clock tower.
The house has a gated front drive with parking space for three cars.
Local Area DetailsThe house is situated in North Burgundy in the Yonne region. This area is renowned for wine- making, gastronomy, rock climbing, the Morvan National Park and canal boating. There are countless castles to visit and an exhaustive amount of historic villages to walk round.
The house is near the Chablis vineyards and the famous Vezelay Abbey.
The cities of Auxerre, Dijon and Beaune are all within easy reach by car. If you bring your bicycles you'll find many purpose built cycle tracks along the canals and through the countryside.

Avallon
The nearest town to Voutenay has several supermarkets, a high street providing individual shops, banks, restaurants and bars. There is a market every Saturday morning.
Avallon is a picturesque, historical walled town situated on top of a steep hill. The River Cousin meanders 100ft below the ramparts.
Vezelay
Visit the 12th century Benedictine abbey and basilica. Walk past the galleries and cafes to see the church run by the Benedictine monks. Catholics from all round the world make pilgramages to this church on their way to Spain.
Semur en Auxois
A beautiful town full of cafes and galleries which still has the remains of the 13th century town fortifications. There is a superb road train that tours the town in the summer.
Additional InformationAbout TransportThe house is best reached by car from the A6 or train. The nearest airport is Paris Charles de Gaulle which is 250km away. At the end of the lane there is a train stop where you can catch a train to Avallon, Auxerre and even Paris. There are about 6 slow trains per day in total. It is possible to get to the house from England completely by train without the need of taxis as you can walk from the train stop to the house in 2 minutes.
About BarsThere is dynamic, village bar in Saint More that offers reasoneably priced lunches as well as evening dinner. Great home-made food with local produce and a village atmosphere. In the summer convivial live music and entertainment are provided. Saint More is five minutes in a car or you can opt for a pleasant 30 minute walk along the river Cure.
About ParksThe Morvan National Park is just 20km away from the house. The park is home to several boating lakes and covers all water sport activities. There are plenty of tourist towns with outdoor activities arranged for the more active holidaymaker.
About Children ActivitiesThe house has a playroom upstairs with a pool table, table tennis, karaoke machine, electric keyboard, Nintendo game console. Outside, the garden is big enough to get lost in. There is also badminton, football, softball and cricket.
About Family ActivitiesCycle along the canal towpaths of Mailly la ville and Vermonton. Cycle hire is 15 minutes down the road in Cravant. Go fishing in the rivers and streams. Walk along the river Cure or the river Cousin. Enjoy the prehistoric cave drawings at Arcy sur Cure, just 5 minutes down the road.

The house is surrounded by hills and cliffs so there are plenty of stunning views down the valley. There are several arranged walks through local villages and along the local canals. There are numerous tourist leaflets in English in the house to review what’s on offer.
About ShoppingVermenton has the closest supermarkets at 12km but travel 15 minutes by car to Avallon to find a town with a lively Saturday market and a Hypermarket, boutiques, banks and antiques shops.
