Le Pont au Moitte is a 2-bedroomed cottage, sleeping 6 (+ baby), outside the small village of St Pierre-d’Entremont (Orne), Saturday arrival Standing completely on its own in a rural setting, this is a delightful thatched cottage, a tall narrow detached dwelling of local stone, originally built in the 19th century to house farm workers. The surroundings of little fields and apple orchards are peaceful, the house enjoys lovely views of gently undulating countryside with a few farmhouses and, in the distance, the Mont de Cerisy. A grassy area around the cottage is available for outdoor living with a stone well (covered up for safety) to the front. The cottage interior is essentially modern but the original character has been captured by the extensive use of exposed stonework and beamed ceilings and by furnishings in rustic-style. The welcoming owners (Monsieur speaks English) can provide two bicycles and will suggest many rides and other activities in the immediate area. An Ideal spot in rich farming countryside, not far from the elegant spa of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne and the beautiful forests of southern Normandy, and which has numerous walks from the cottage, many small roads for cycling and many festivals in the area from June to September.
