Step back to the turn of the 19th Century Spacious rooms with high ceilings original tiled floors and mostly antique carved wood furniture are all in keeping with the style of the house Situated in its own grounds there is private parking and a garage The 300 sq m garden has a lawn trees and outdoor furniture for those all important al fresco meals The main entrance is into an impressive hall with marble panelling On the ground floor is a double bedded room a formal dining room with antique furniture overlooking the garden and a small salon with sofa and TV The well equipped eatin kitchen has French doors to a short flight of steps to the garden The spacious fully tiled bathroom has separate bath and shower and hand wash basin there is a separate WC A staircase from the hallway leads up to a landing off which are two further large double bedded bedrooms with big windows overlooking the garden NB All beds are double but single beds can be provided if required Telephone for incoming calls The owners of the house are a friendly French couple who live in an adjacent building the husband is Mayor of the village They will be as discreet or as sociable as you wish NB the owners have a dog PLEASE VISIT wwwvineyardvisascom for more photos and information SOME QUOTES FROM VISITORS We were all enchanted with Les Marronniers It is a delightful house which seemed to capture a bygone age of charm and elegance The marble everywhere was amazing Will you kindly pass on our thanks to the owners They were great hosts and they made us all feel very welcome Please thank them particularly for the really enjoyable evening that they gave us in their home on our last but one night there Mr R Luke Surrey The house in Plan d Orgon was great and the accomodations were very good indeed The house was comfortable and well equipped Also its location is central to everything From there we were able to easily visit Arles Avignon etc The mayor and his wife were very hospitable He was able to make dinner reservations for us as well as made a number of suggestions on places to visit The two of us plan to return next year Ms Atwaters California USA I can say without doubt that we spent a very enjoyable time on holiday in Provence The property was of a very high standard and immaculately presented we were able to feel very at home there as the owners were extremely friendly without being at all intrusive Despite my poor schoolboy French they made the effort to converse with us and they were very helpful in recommending days out in the region All in all it was a very happy time and I would have no hesitation in recommending the property to a friend It could not have been a more trouble free and relaxing break Dr Epstein London
Local Area DetailsThe village of Plan d Orgon has has several restaurants in all price ranges a butcher minimarket bakers chemist and doctors also a tennis court The typical Provencal town of Cavaillon with supermarkets shops restaurants and a weekly street market is just 4 kms away The house is ideally situated for visiting most of the must sees of Provence including the Year in Provence villages of Mrbes Roussillon Gordes etc Delightful St R de Provence with specialist boutiques and restaurants is only a 10 minute drive There are many typical Provencal markets in the area including St R de Provence Cavaillon Apt and the antique market of LIsle sur la Sorgue Avignon is a 20 minute drive and the other wonderful Roman towns of Nimes and Arles are about an hours drive away as is Aix en Provence Close to Chateauneuf du Pape and Cotes du Rhone vineyards for superb wine tasting outings The local hotel a 5 minute walk from the house has two swimming pools which can be used by guests all afternoon providing that they eat lunch there There is a public Swimming Pool in Cavaillon 3kms and Mediterranean beaches are a 45 minute drive
