Your nearest neighbours will be Hilary and her daughter Louise - two English ladies who made the life-changing decision to move to France four years ago. They've opened up their home and their lives to others wanting to learn about their experiences and spend a bit of time 'living the dream' themselves. Your stay will be whatever you want it to be - complete privacy with a stay in the house on a purely self-catering basis with minimal contact from the owners, or the option to have some meals prepared for you - either just breakfast or evening meals / picnics etc - or you can take on the full experience and join in with outings, social occasions, walking the dogs along the local lanes, visiting the markets and 'vide grenier' (car boot sales) etc. And with lots of day trips to take advantage of outside of the village, you'll be making the most of your time in this fascinating area. The village of Moussoulens is just 15 minutes away from the world famous Carcassonne, a popular tourist destination for people from all over the world.Whether you want to visit the historic city and enjoy the boutique shops and many restaurants or you want to go and explore the new town and sit in one of the many cafes in the square and watch the world go by, there is something for everyone. No.14 Impasse des Fleurs is a beautifully restored village house where mellow character and lovely original features are allied to contemporary light and creature comforts. It is the ultimate getaway, with the lovely balcony where you can sit and watch the sunset whilst enjoying a glass of wine. There is an open plan layout downstairs.The kitchen is fully equipped so you can create a gourmet meal (although the Michelin starred restaurant 1.5 kms away does that to perfection) or just have a simple snack. It is equipped with a hob,oven,fridge/freezer, a microwave, electric kettle,washing machine and tumble dryer . Next is the dining area with seating for 4, although the table can be extended to create seating for 6 if necessary. Following on from this is the comfortable lounge with seating for 4. There is Sky freeview tv, a dvd and video player and a range of books and magazines to enjoy. You then go through sliding doors to the balcony with a small table+chairs and two sun loungers where you can relax and enjoy the sun.We have a downstairs bathroom with a bath,separate shower,w.c and heated towel rail. Upstairs we have 2 good sized bedrooms and a separate w.c between them. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, wardrobe,chest of drawers, dressing table and lovely views of the Pyrenees from the window.
