Mangoes has an ideal situation,just across the road from the beach and shared pool, only 250 yards from a large supermarket and has numerous restaurants within 5 minutes walk! You do not need to hire a car, as everything you need is on your doorstep (though you will see more of this varied and fascinating island if you do car hire).
Mangoes is a roomy, 3-bedroomed villa in its own large gardens, giving a real sense of privacy - it has a living room to relax in with TV/Video -this leads to the "al fresco" dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, a large verandah overlooking the garden and a shady gazebo for those hot days! Guests can use the pool at the Beach Club just across the road beside the sea, or enjoy the many beaches within a very short distance.

Local Area Details

The area is ideal for water-sports - swimming, snorkelling and diving(the Folkstone Underwater National Park is right opposite!). A wide variey of other activities are also available locally(Glass-bottomed boats, water-ski-ing, hiring jet-skis etc.)Further afield,you could visit the capital Bridgetown(the bus stop is only 100 yards away), take a trip on the "Jolly Roger, or dive in a real submarine. The island has an enormous variety of scenery and beaches, as well as tropical gardens, a wild-life park, historic plantation houses, rum distilleries and the Malibu Factory - and even a limestone cave you can visit. Tax-free shopping is also a "must", with several outlets less than 5 minutes walk away.

About Beaches

The sea and the beachers are just across the road from Mangoes. To the left is a pretty unspoilt cove called Vauxhall Beach, to the right the beaches stretch right up to Holetown. If you want the convenience of a beach bars there are two close by, Cocomos and Surfside.

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

Barbados offers year round summer with temperatures nearly always between 80 and 90 degrees F. There is a rainy season...November usually being the wettest month....even then the heavy tropical showers are usually interspersed with plenty of sunshine.

About Diving

Cross the road to the Diving Centre. The nearby coastline is all part of the Folkestone Underwater National Park so diving and snorkelling are well worth while.

About Local Restaurants

There are plenty of choices for dinner in the area. Quality and select restaurants line the two streets of Holetown but our favourites are slightly closer to Mangoes. Cocomos, Surfside and Indigo which each have a pleasant and unique ambience as well as good food!
