The Watch House was built in 1782 and stands in an elevated position right on the foreshore with uninterrupted sea views over to The Isle of May.
The house is now a superb self catering property in a wonderful setting. It has the great advantage of being just minutes walk from shops, pubs, Hotels and restaurants. Set on 3 floors the double room on the top floor has 3 gothis arched windows and spectacular views and ornate plasterwork. The middle level has a twin/triple bedroom with window seat overlooking the ocean. Ground level has a lovely lounge area with full kitchen off.
Local Area DetailsThe village of Crail is situated on the coast about 15 minutes drive from the famous St Andrews. Crail is known as the jewel in the crown of the small picturesque fishing villages that are strung along the coast of The East Neuk of Fife. If you are a golfer then you have a choice of over 40 courses to play in the area. Traditionally known as the home of golf, The Kingdom of Fife offers not only the famous Old Course at St Andrews but also a multitude of superb courses ranging from traditional links through tree lined parkland to some of the most recently laid out greens and fairways in Scotland. Balcomie links... one of the oldest golf courses in Scotland are just 5 minutes drive from The Watch House. We have a folder at the house that gives lots of information of local castle/mansion houses and lots of other places of interest in the area.
