Then drive, or even better, take a walk to the delightful village of Portovenere (1 km) which can be reached in a 10 minutes walk, past colourful village houses, or through fascinating and relaxing olive groves, while admiring the stunning panorama of the Mediterranean Sea. The sunny beaches of Renella, Royal and L’Olivo, are seductive and inviting. Here you can practice all sorts of water sports. You can also decide to embark on the little ferry boat and spend a day on the magnificent beach of the Island of Palmaria. The landscape here, with its multicoloured villages and the spectacular coastline and the stunning sea views, is so unique, that the Riviera has been listed in 1998 as a world heritage under the protection of Unesco.
