Carved into a 65 million-year-old Ojo Alamo Sandstone cliff, Kokopelli's Cave is situated some 70 feet below the surface on a west facing vertical cliff. The 8'X 8' flagstone covered entryway leads inside to the plush carpeted living areas, where a large central pillar separates the circular open area into separate rooms. The bedroom's double wide sliding glass door leads to the balcony overlooking the La Plata River Valley 250 feet below where spectacular red sunsets provid unparalled views over the vistas of the Four Corners area. The hand made wooden frame highlights the queen size bed and a stereo/CD and tape player are available for your lenjoyment. In the spacious living room are a TV and VCR, complete with a well-rounded selection of videos, and a futon couch which sleeps two additional people. In the back area of the cave is a den with flagstone flooring surrounding a replica stone kiva and horno (fireplace) adjacent to the full service kitchen/dining area. The bathroom features a waterfall shower cascading off a "ruins" style wall set with wooden vigas and built with natural stone from the area. If the mood strikes, the waterfall fills a cozy hot tub in which to relax with the jacuzzi after a long day of touring and exploring.
