Circa 1860. Originally a farm of over 100 acres converted into a hotel in 1910. The Redcoat's Inn is nestled in the scenic Catskil Mountains of New York overlooking fields, forests, mountains and the Schoharie Creek. At 2002 feet, the Inn is in the center of the Catskill Game Preserve and is convenient to numerous year round activities. Redcoats's provides cozy lodgings most with private bath, and breakfast is included in the fair for all overnight guests. Dinner is available in a charming library dining room, main dining room or outdoors (when weather permits) on a lovely veranda which offers sweeping views of the surrounding beauty of the Catskills. The bar and lounge offer the ambience of a large stone fireplace and many fine antiques which can be enjoyed any time of year. Redcoat's is also the perfect setting for weddings and special events.

Local Area Details

In spring and summer many marked hiking trails lead from the Inn into the mountains, with magnificent views of the Hudson Valley. There are several fine golf courses nearby, as well as swimming, fishing and horseback riding and mountain biking. For the less energetic there are easy side trips to Woodstock, Cooperstown and Hyde Park, New York. Hunter Mountain provides a breathtaking skyride whisking one up to a 4000 foot view of the Catskill Mountain Range. In July and August, Hunter Mountain hosts many summer festivals. Autumn provides some of the most spectacular foliage in America and is the perfect time for hiking, hunting and antiquing. With winter comes the ski season at Hunter and Windham Mountains. Cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating and many more winter activities are also available throughtuot the area.
