Downstairs – Kitchen/dining/sitting room. Gas cooker. Fridge/freezer. Dishwasher. Microwave. Electric heating complements the wood burner. French windows open onto a large partly shaded lawn, great for games or for sunbathing on the 2 sunloungers. Boules. Picnic Table. Stone-built barbecue. Washing machine, drier and billiards in out building. Small walled front garden. Private parking. 2 bicycles.
Upstairs – Bright family bedroom, 2 single beds, 1 double bed. Bed linen supplied. Shower and WC.

House next door is unoccupied. Owners live a mile away.

Local Area Details

Wry Cottage is situated at Saint Anaon , a rural hamlet 2 miles from the village of Plevin, in the county of Cotes d’Armor. There is a village shop to buy crunchy croissants and fresh baked bread for breakfast, and a restaurant serving country cooking for lunch, as well as a bar with a pretty garden. It is 6 miles SE of the marekt town of Carhaix and 12 miles W of the market town of Rostrenen.
The famous Nantes-Brest Canal passes near with its wide tow path for cycling, walking or horse riding. If you want some excitement, you can hire rafts and paddle down the canal descendiing the disused locks by canoe slides. The frontier moors of the Armorique National Park and the granite boulder valleys of Huelgoat are within easy reach.
There is a good network of suprisingly quiet roads which lead you to the south to the white beaches, to the north to the pink granite coast or to the west to the rugged atlantic coast. The closest beach is at the local lake, just 7 miles away. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools being 6 miles or 20 miles away. The ferry port of Roscoff is just over an hours drive, St Malo is two hours drive. You can fly drive Stansted to Brest or Dinard with Ryan Air, or from Exeter or Southhampton to Brest via Easy Jet.

In Brittany you will find a blend of traditional and modern, Breton and French cultures. You can take part in local fetes, barn dances, music festivals, country markets and flea markets, flower and vegetable shows, gastronomic, gypsy and craft fairs, museums of science, art and nature, gardens, castles, water sports, bird watching, canoeing, rafting, hunting, and fishing. The biggest pop festival in France is in mid July in Carhaix.
