Shoretack Court is situated in the quiet fishing village of Gourdon on the north east coast of Scotland. The apartment has beautiful sea views and offers easy access to Aberdeen, Royal Deeside and the eastern highlands

It is a 3 bedroomed 1 bathroom, ground floor apartment on the sea front. It sleeps 7 and is well equipped to make your stay pleasurable. In the light and airy lounge/dining room there is TV, video, stereo as well as an open fire for winter visitors.

The kitchen is fully fitted with a wide range of equipment to make self catering easy and enjoyable. There is a washing machine and tumble drier in the separate utility room and the bathroom has an electric shower over the bath.

The bedrooms comprise of 1 double, 1 triple (double + single) and 1 bunk beds. We also have a travel cot and highchair for infants.

Local Area Details

Minutes away can be found 2 visitors centres. At Arbuthnott is the Grassic Gibbons centre (author of the Scots Quair Trilogy) while at Benholm there is an old working water mill.

13 miles south is Montrose, which has many amenities including 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool and several miles of sandy beach. Montrose basin offers a visitors centre while at St Cyrus a couple of miles north of Montrose there is a large sandy beach and coastal nature reserve. There are also a good variety of shops in Montrose.

11 miles north is Stonehaven once again with a golf course, heated outdoor pool and indoor pool, pleasant harbour with various hostelries offering fine food and drink. The famous Dunnottar Castle perches on cliffs just south of the town. There are a variety of shops here also.

Fettercairn approx 16 miles inland has a distillery visitors centre and Fasque house, home of the family of Prime Minister Gladstone, open to the public. No more than 45 minutes will bring you to Glamis Castle and it's beautiful grounds - birthplace of the Queen Mother and venue for the Scottish Proms.

Glen Esk, Drumtochty and Tarfside all offer beautiful country walks.

Aberdeen, the Granite City and oil capital of UK, is 30 minutes by car and provides the gateway to Royal Deeside, whisky and castle trails. Aberdeen offers the many and varied attractions you'd expect to find in a large city to keep you entertained.

Dundee, the City of Discovery, is a mere hour south by car where the historic ship Discovery with visitor centre and the old frigate, The Unicorn can be viewed. Olympia, an indoor water centre including flumes is nearby.

The historic city of St Andrews is little more than 20 minutes on from Dundee after crossing the famous Tay Bridge. With its sandy beach, golf clubs, the University, Sea Life Aquarium and Abbey ruins, St Andrews offers the visitor a great day out.

For the more adventurous Perth, Crieff, Dunkeld and Pitlochry in beautiful Perthshire are all accessible for long day trips. At Crieff you can see the Stuart crystal factory and the nearby Glenturret distillery (I personally recommend it and their whisky liqueur !). At Pitlochry there is a salmon ladder beside the Hydro Electric station and a visitors centre.

The cities of Stirling (little less than 2 hrs), with all its history and connections to William Wallace, Glasgow (21/2 hrs ) and Edinburgh (2 hrs) - by car - can also be reached by train or bus. These offer great attractions for all visitors.

For the winter months the ski slopes of Glenshee and The Lecht are 2 hours away while Aviemore, with the Cairngorm slopes, is a little further.
