Airdeny Chalets is to be found less than a mile from Taynuilt, in a quiet unspoilt glen, with spectacular views of Ben Cruachan (3650ft) and Glen Etive. The chalets are situated in 3.5 acres of private land, which has its own bluebell wood and a myriad of wildlife. Roe deer, pheasant, buzzards and many other wild birds enjoy the peaceful, natural habitat. The chalets each enjoy their own privacy and have their own parking area. There is plenty of space for children to run around in a safe environment. An added bonus is that the chalet park is a ‘midge free zone’!
There are four, two bedroom chalets and three, three bedroom chalets.

The two bedroom chalets have a three star grading. They have a twin and a double bedroom, with a fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom has a shower, vanity unit and toilet, heated towel rail, shaver point and fan heater.
The living area is open plan, with a corner settee which converts into two single beds, two armchairs, a dining table and chairs, and a colour TV. The kitchen is fitted with a full size electric cooker, fridge, microwave oven, electric kettle and toaster. It is well supplied with, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. We are regularly complemented by our guests on how well it is stocked. There are electric wall panel heaters in the living room and bedrooms and the chalets are double glazed and have cavity wall insulation.

The three bedroom chalets have a four star grading. They are spacious and have an open plan living room, dining room/kitchen. The living area is furnished with large comfortable settees, a coffee table and side table, bookcase, 21" TV with DVD, CD player. The dining area has a Shaker style dining table and 6 dining chairs. There is an extremely well equipped kitchen with an electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave oven, kettle and toaster, crockery, cutlery and glass ware for 8 people.

The double bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite shower room, which has shower, toilet, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and electric fan heater. There are two further bedrooms, either two twin bedrooms or a twin bedroom and a bedroom with adult size bunk beds. The bathroom has a bath and electric shower, toilet, wash hand basin, shaver point, heated towel rail and electric fan heater.

A drying cupboard is a useful extra as well as a large storage cupboard. Electric wall panel heaters with timers are fitted in the living room and bedrooms. Water is heated by a pressurised immersion heater with a booster control. There is a deck area with garden furniture and parking for two cars next to chalet.

Electricity is by meter and is payable at the end of the stay.
All bed linen is supplied, but there is a charge if additional bedding is required. Towels are available for hire, but must be booked in advance. A cot and high chair are also available and need to be booked in advance. There are laundry facilities on site, with a washing machine and tumble drier.
Dogs are welcome, but must be booked in advance as some chalets are dog free. There is a small charge for each dog. Dogs must never be left unattended in the chalet and must be kept on the lead and under control on site. Care must be taken that they do not foul the area.
Smoking is not permitted inside the chalets.
The chalet park is under the personal supervision of the owner who is resident on site and will endeavour to make your stay an enjoyable one. She ensures that the chalets are maintained to the highest housekeeping standards.
The chalet park is open all year round. Between Easter and the end of October, bookings run from Saturday to Saturday, but short breaks are available from November to Easter.

Local Area Details

Taynuilt has an excellent general store, butcher, post office and tea room. There is a golf course, tennis courts, Presbyterian and R.C. Churches. Excellent quality meals are available from the Taynuilt Hotel.
Only a short distance away is Loch Etive, where you can take a boat trip to the head of the loch and see seals and golden eagles. You can also visit Bonawe Iron Furnace, which was established in 1753 and is reputed to have made cannonballs used by Lord Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar.
Inverawe Smokehouse is a short distance from Taynuilt. It smokes fish in the traditional way and you can catch your own trout and visit the shop and tearoom.
Oban is 12 miles away. There are ferries to Mull and Iona and other isles of the Inner Hebrides. It has excellent shops, restaurants, an indoor leisure centre, 18 hole golf course, all weather tennis courts and bowling green. There is a wide variety of entertainment in evening. It has a Tesco super store, banks and cash machines.
Visit Cruachan Power Station which is excavated from the heart of Ben Cruachan. Visitors are conveyed into the cavern from the visitors’ centre by side of Loch Awe.
Explore the marine world through 30 close encounter glass displays at the Sea Life Centre near Connell.
Go to Seil Island by crossing the Bridge over the Atlantic. Visit Easdale Quarry, An Cala Garden and Folk Museum. Go on a SeaFari adventure to Corryvrecken and Garvellach.
Visit Inverary Castle, the seat of the Duke of Argyll, and the award winning Inverary Courthouse and Jail complex.
Wander round gardens at Barguillean, Achnacloich, Ardchattan Priory, Crarae and Arduaine.
Take a walk through Inverliever, Fearnoch and Glen Nant forests.
