The Bentley Inn is an 1886 Victorian Mansion located in the historic & picturesque seaside town of Bay Head, New Jersey. Many call it the “Hamptons of the Jersey Shore. We are just 3 houses from the ocean and feature 19 guest rooms with TV/VCR, A/C & phone, full-serve breakfast with 5 entrees, private off-street parking, complete beach gear, bicycles, wrap-around covered porch, large living room, dining room and sunlit solarium. Slip back to another time and relax on the 1st and 2nd floor covered porches with ocean & bay breezes. Bay Head and surrounding areas offer hundreds of specialty stores, antique shops, auction houses, galleries & restaurants. All manner of water sports are available, plus biking and birding. We even provide rainy day and off season fun. Think of the fun you’ll have treasure hunting with your own metal detector or curling up to watch a good movie in the privacy of your bedchamber. We welcome special events, small weddings, business meetings & conferences.
Local Area DetailsThere is something special about Bay Head! Like our unique brand of artwork (a local favorite), our town is pretty, charming and lots of fun. Many large, well-kept Victorian homes line our streets, gardens bloom in season and, of course, our uncrowded, lifeguarded beaches are our constant joy.
We are 70 miles south of New York City, 65 miles east of Philadelphia, 60 miles north of Atlantic City. There is plenty to do all around the Bay Head area. But right here in our rather quaint country village by the sea, we live a quietly casual yet somewhat elegant lifestyle.
We enjoy the Atlantic Ocean at our front door to the east - with swimming, kayaking, diving, fishing, surfboarding and all types of ocean water sports and at our back door to the west we have Barnegat Bay to enjoy - with crabbing, windsurfing, waterskiing, power and sailboating along with other calm water sports.
Bay Head is a great place to fly a kite, to bicycle on quiet village streets, to collect seashells and seaglass, to watch the ducks in our wildlife sanctuary, to sit back and enjoy a glorious sunset. We have over 40 specialty shops with outstanding goods and services; we highly recommend our comfortable inns and hotels; and we offer a range of dining choices from gourmet take-out to award-winning cuisine.
Bay Head is a fun place - well-loved since the late 1800’s by folks who like the good life. Come visit - for a change of pace, any time of year.
