About Javea. Javea (or Xabia) is easily accessible from Alicante and Valencia Airports (about an hour’s drive from either). The dominating feature in Javea is Mount Mongo, immediately to the north. The protection this affords the town is one of the factors responsible for the very mild climate, referred to by the World Health Organisation as ‘almost as perfect as it is possible to attain’. The old town, with its 16th century church, covered market and fascinating narrow streets, built mostly with the local rough stone, ensures that it mantains its charming Medieval character.
This holiday resort also offers a whole range of different sports and leisure activities. It has two golf courses (a 9-hole and an 18-hole), a horse-riding school, all sorts of different water activities (windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving, snorkelling, canoeing etc), tennis courts are within walking distance from the villa, and for the keen cyclist there are good mountain paths to follow.
