Our location outside of Gila (off U.S. Route 180, just 25 miles from Silver City) allows you to experience the West as it used to be: vast expanses of land with incredible vistas and wildlife usually seen only in zoos or nature museums. From Casitas de Gila you can explore the entire Southwestern New Mexico area. Visit ghost towns, cliff dwellings, galleries and museums; bird watch, rockhound, hike or ride a horse. The five guesthouses at Casitas de Gila are a Stress-Free Zone on 70 acres overlooking Bear Creek and the mountains of the Gila Wilderness. They are beautifully appointed with Mexican furniture and crafts and have full kitchens, fireplaces, porches, picnic tables and bbq grills. Our adobe Art Gallery showcases Michael's oil paintings and Becky's turquoise jewelry. We welcome stays of any length.
