This cabin/house is located at Forest Lakes on the Mogollon Rim in Northeastern Arizona at an elevation of 7,500 feet. It is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac on an acre of land surrounding by beautiful tall Ponderosa Pines. The cabin has a large Great Room with a huge kitchen, full bathroom, and two downstairs bedrooms, each with a KING size bed. The upstairs spacious loft has two twin beds, one double bed and one twin rollaway and a large play area. There is also a Port-a-crib available for small infants. The Great Room is over 20 feet high with a wall of windows giving a beautiful view of the pine forest. We just added a new 19" TV and a new VCR/DVD player. In one corner is a safe, efficient, pellet stove, a new couch and loveseat, and a table with entertaining board games and CD player. The eastern section of the Great Room has a large dining room table (seats 8-10)and on the wall is an authentic Navajo rug. The beautiful high-ceilinged kitchen gets the morning sun and has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, all utensils, cookware, dishes, and a large breakfast bar/workspace. Each large downstairs bedroom is decorated--the eastern one has the Southwest decor, while the western room is fully paneled--both have King size beds and all sheets (regular and flannel) are provided. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination and towels and toiletries are included. The pellets for the pellet stove are stored upstairs in the loft. The play area has toys for children of all ages and sheets are provided for the twin and double beds. The front porch is under a protective hanging roof and has an outdoor picnic table, porch swing, bar-b-que, and chairs. This is the only large single cabin for rent in Forest Lakes, and the location provides seclusion and privacy with peace and quiet. Enjoy the wildlife from the front porch and relax in the stillness of nature. Because we are so high, we get plenty of snow (over 6 feet last winter!) and we provide the sleds for winter fun. During the summer, it is 20-30 degrees cooler than the Phoenix metro area, and the skies are crystal clear at night for star-gazing. No one who has been here has been disappointed!

Local Area Details

Forest Lakes is in the middle of the Coconino Forest and within 10 miles of both Woods Canyon and Willow Springs Lakes, where you can rent boats for fishing. The nearby campground has a full-time ranger with scheduled summer activities. There are hiking trails and cross-country skiing in Forest Lakes.
