Property Details of Latium Apartment

The apartment has a large living area and kitchen, a small bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a double bed (it's a queen-size bed that can be split into two large single beds)and a balcony. In the living room, there is a day-bed and a couch that can convert into additional sleeping space - but we recommend the house for couples with perhasp one child.

The apartment has autonomous central heat, full kitchen with gas stove, small washing machine - stereo, but no dishwasher, no telephone, no TV.
The kitchen is simple and practical - with a view of the town's principle church and piazza below.

Our friend Teresa is facilitating this rental activity for us. She is a Filipina who married the son of a good friend of ours in Nettuno. She greets people when they arrive, usually at the entrance of the Nettuno train station. She will show you how things work and will be there for you if you need any help. She won't take payment from us, so we will expect you to tip her generously after she picks you up and takes you to the apartment, and again when you leave, because she will come in and prepare the apartment for the next guest. Recommended tip: E.50-100.

Local Area Details

Nettuno is 60 kilometers south of Rome (very close to the picturesque fishing town of Anzio). The coast between Anzio and Nettuno is known for being the WWII beach-head for the liberation of Rome. Day trips from Nettuno might include visits to the castles of Sermoneta, the wine towns of Frascati, Marino and Velletri, the neolithic walls and gardens of Ninfa, San Felice Circeo, with its National Park, and boat trips to the islands of Ponza and Palmarola - just to name a few.

The neighborhood is like a medieval casbah. It's relaxing and beautiful night and day . . . Nettuno is famous for its white wines and plentiful fresh vegetables and seafood. There are several produce markets, upscale delis, and a variety of great restaurants, trattorias, pizzerias, and ice-cream parlors - all within a short walking distance.

The apartment is up 2 flights from the level of the piazza - easy steps but no elevator. It is a five-minute walk from the house to the Nettuno train station and there are trains approximately every hour to Rome's central Termini station.
