Local Area Details

Newquay town is the focal point for shopping and leisure with a full selection of high street names and specialist local shops in which to browse. Sport and leisure facilities abound and Newquay golf course is virtually on the doorstep. The town and quaint local villages boast a variety of hostelries and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets, with a welcome second to none!

Headland Point is ideally situated for a perfect holiday for all the family. Just 50 metres from your doorstep is Fistral Beach renowned for hosting the World Surfing Championships and for its clean, golden sand. For those who want a challenge you can book surfing lessons at the British Surfing Association hut situated on the beach.



Shop


If you walk towards the beach from your front door you will see the Fistral beach Surf Shop. There are clothes shops, a restaurant, and a bar with all the usual amenities catered for. If you turn right into Headland Road and walk along the promenade you will soon arrive at the main shopping area (about 30 metres from the apartment block).

Pubs


As you come to the top of the precinct, on your right is the Central Arms Pub. This pub has recently been refurbished in a modern and comfortable style. It provides excellent food, a variety of coffees as well as the usual drinks, and sky sports. If at the end of Trevena Alma Place you turn left along Fore Street away from the shops and towards the harbour, after 200 metres on your right hand side there is the Fort Inn which has great food and is ideal for children as there are excellent play areas inside and out. Another few hundred metres on along Fore Street at the mini roundabout you will find the Red Lion Pub. Renowned for its beautiful setting over looking the harbour, good food and live music at the weekends. Lewinnick Lodge is an excellent pub on Pentire Headland within easier walking distance of Headland Point. It has excellent food, an open fire out of season and stunning views across the Atlantic.



Golf Course


As you exit from the apartment block you will see that the golf course is directly in front of you. The entrance and clubhouse to the immaculate links course is about a 5 minute walk from the house following the perimeter. The course is playable all year round thanks to the sand-based turf. Walks


For some of the best walks in Cornwall you only have to step out of the front door. If you walk as if going towards the Headland Hotel you will arrive at the Pentire headland, which has breath-taking scenery. To your left on the headland you have a view of the Gannel River as it meets the sea and Crantock beach on the other side of the headland you can look back towards Fistral Beach. There is also a car park at the headland if you prefer to drive.
