How to make the perfect Burger

Burgers are a popular food with both adults and children and are perfect for a Self-Catering holiday! Despite this in recent years the burger has received a bad press and is often held up as an example of junk food. MacDonalds may be popular the world over, but what it does to the waistline certainly is not. However, burgers do not have to be unhealthy. Burgers do not even have to contain meat, but can be made from a wide range of ingredients. The most important factor that determines how good a burger tastes is the quality of the ingredients. Good quality fresh ingredients will make your burger better than any shop bought variety. Unfortunately sometimes when we make burgers they turn out to be too dry or lacking in flavour.

Self Catering, Antarctic style

Antarctica is the world’s most southern continent and lies under the South Pole. It is the fifth largest continent by area, and around 98 percent of the area is covered by ice which is on average at least 1.6 kilometres deep. It is not the most hospitable of places, being on average the coldest, driest and windiest continent. In fact it is so dry that it is officially considered to be a desert. It has no permanent human residents, although around 1,000 to 5,000 people reside there throughout the year at various research stations. Animals that survive there have to be well adapted to the cold and include penguins and seals.
