It now seems that two great teams will be facing off in the World Cup this week. It will be a three time champion team takes on a team that is craving its first title. It’s a game that would be a great World Cup final, however, it’s just a semi-final game. This just shows how great this year’s World Cup has been and how much is riding on these last few games.

Germany and Spain will be facing off this Wednesday night at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Many are expecting the winner of this game to go on and be crowned the world champion in four days time. Spain striker, Fernando Torres, said that two of the best teams in the World Cup have to play in the semi-final. This is very unlucky for both teams.

Every year there is a World Cup game that comes a round or two too soon. Some are saying that this Germany – Spain game is “that” game for this year’s World Cup. Spain has only lost two games since November of 2006. It ended a 44-year major title drought when it beat Germany to win the European Championship in 2008.

Germany, on the other hand, has made old rivals Argentina and England look downright bad this year. They were able to beat both teams with a combined score of 8-1 in order to reach the semifinals for a third straight World Cup. Some are saying that this is by far the best German football team that has ever been put together.

Germany Coach Joachim Loew said that this is a very strong Spanish team. This goes for both offense and defense. They have several players that can decide games, and tactically, they are very strong.
