Greenlight Shows Ryanair is Becoming Significantly More Visible on Search Results

It now appears, according to Greenlight, that Ryanair is now becoming significantly more visible within natural search results on Google. This is great news for Ryanair and not such great news for all of its rivals, as it means that people have been paying a lot more attention to this airline lately.

Greenlight analyzes just how often brands appear on the first page of Google results for the most popular key terms used. This time Greenlight looked at 3,200 key terms used by UK users. This June it would appear that these terms generated a total of 38 million searches. In May, the total was only 29 million, which shows a pretty big increase overall.

The results showed that Ryanair appeared on the first page of Google natural results on 50 percent of the 38 million searches. This places the company fourth overall in the visibility list. Greenlight’s March 2010 report had Ryanair visible on 38 percent on the pages. Back in December of 2009, Ryanair was only visible on 2 percent of the pages.

Overall, however, skyscanner.net topped the June natural charts with 89 percent. It was even included in the number one position for the term “Flight.” This term alone accounts for 35 percent of all searches. It has the number one slot for 416 other keywords as well.

Of course, Cheapflights was the most effective. It was in the top slot for 1,463 terms. However, it did only rank in spot 14 with the key word “Flight” being used. Greenlight went on to note that, in June, generic terms accounted for some 40 percent of all searches compared with 6 percent in March.
