Passengers on British Airways Plane told in Error that They Were About to Crash
Abi BrayAccording to recent reports, passengers on a British Airways flight just had a big scare. Apparently this scare came after they were told that they were going to crash into the sea by an emergency message. Reports later went on to say that this message was played in error.
So far media reports have shown that there were some 275 people on a Boeing 747 plane that was en route from Heathrow to Hong Kong. During this flight, a female voice came on the PA system and told everyone that there was an emergency. It went on to tell them that they would soon be making an emergency landing on water.
This is, of course, one of the last things that people want to hear when they are on a plane. One of the passengers, Michelle Lord, age 32, said that people were just terrified. She went on to say that everyone thought that they were all about to die. Another passenger on the plane said that he cannot think of anything worse to be told when on a flight than the plane is about to crash.
The media has said that British Airways is investigating the incident. However, the airline has so far denied all reports that the message was triggered in error by one of the pilots on the flight. One of the spokesmen for the company said that they would like to apologize to all of the passengers who were on the plane.
As of right now, the cause of the error has not yet been found. However, British Airways does promise to get to the bottom of the error so it does not happen again.
