Travelodge Sales Grow by 13 Percent
Robert JonesThe well-known budget hotel chain Travelodge has just recently announced some very exciting news for its company. Apparently the company said that it has seen a 13 percent jump in its sales when compared to last year. On top of this, the company expects that its sales will continue to grow for the rest of the year.
Travelodge went on to announced it had like-for-like growth of six percent. This was led, of course, by an 11 percent growth in London. Overall, this is a good sign for the hotel industry in London as a whole. Of course, some experts say that they are not shocked by this growth at all since Travelodge is a budget hotel chain. Many people have started to give up on luxury and turn towards budget chains in order to save money.
Guy Parsons, who is the chief executive of Travelodge, said that, despite the impact this year of the VAT increase and fuel and energy prices rising, 2011 trading is in line with management expectations. The firm is, overall, very confident on the longer term outlook of the company.
He went on to say that, despite the very tough climate that was seen in 2010, they have been able to deliver a robust performance. The whole time they have been able to continue their strategic UK growth program. The company has been able to demonstrate the strength of Travelodge.
Overall, this is good news for Travelodge. The company is proving that it has what it takes to stay one of the most respected budget hotel chains in the world. With the market the way it is, Travelodge can go no place but up.
