The royal wedding is proving to mean big things for the UK. In fact, it appears that the royal wedding is going to be able to give a nice boost to the travel industry, and this goes double for Eurostar.

Just recently, Eurostar, announced that it has been able to sell 28 percent more UK-bound tickets for the week ending on April 29 when compared to a year ago. Eurostar is the same company that links continental Europe to the UK via a high-speed train that travels through the Channel Tunnel.

Pretty much, this news just reconfirms everything that people had been assuming for a long time now, and that is the fact that people are pretty excited about this royal weeding. People are going to come from near and far to see Prince William and Kate Middleton join hands in marriage.

Eurostar says that a number of people who are heading to this wedding will be taking full advantage of its high-speed service instead of using short-haul flights. They went on to say that their service is able to bring riders from Amsterdam or Cologne to London in as little as four hours.

Eurostar’s chief of sales and marketing in France, Lionel Benhassat, said that they have not seen this much interest in the royal family since Charles and Dianna married back in 1981. People are just truly fascinated by this wedding, and they want the chance to experience the magic for themselves.

So far, Eurostar has confirmed a rise in bookings from Germany, France, the Netherlands, and even Belgium. This means that people from all over Europe will be trying to travel to London to participate in this occasion.
