Premier Inn and Emirates Group Sign Joint Venture
Robert JonesPremier Inn, the largest and quickest growing brand of hotels in Britain, has announced that they are signing a joint venture with Emirates Group to introduce their mid-market chain of hotels to Oman.
The new venture is the start of a strategic agreement between Premier Inn Hotels LLC and The Emirates Group for developing the hotel brand within the Sultanate of Oman. The hotel group will introduce their high class, budget hotel model to the hospitality market of Oman, planning to have a minimum of 3 hotels operating by 2010. Their main goal areas are Salalah, Muscat, and Sohar, and it is anticipated that the first developmental phase by itself will consist of an about AED350 million investment.
Darroch Crawford, Premier Inn’s Managing Director for the Middle East, said that they are very excited about the opportunity to develop their unique offering of great accommodations and services that are high class at a budget cost. This expansion and partnership, he continued, demonstrate the growing need for a budget hotel model in the region. He also said that their prices for the value they offer is unfamiliar in the region, as the Middle East is known for high quality and high priced hotels. Premier Inn offers their guests that great value without breaking the bank, he added.
Premier Inn has put a benchmark on the budget hotel sector in Dubai by offering rates on rooms for as little as AED495 per night. Maintaining this strategy and creating strategic partnerships in the region lends more weight to the commitment of Premier Inn to be the key brand in the budget hotel sector of the region.
