Global Travelers List London as the Number One Destination in all of the UK
Dave BondGlobal travelers have finally spoken up and given their thoughts on what their favorite places in the UK are. According to a new survey, which was handled by TripAdvisor, London is the UK’s most popular destination for global travelers. Although that may not be big news, the fact that London ranks in the top 10 of favorite destinations worldwide is a big deal.
In terms of top ten destinations in the UK, Edinburgh was able to come out in second place – right behind London. Bath was able to be given the third spot by global travelers. Experts did point out that it was shocking to see Bath so high on the list. It was also amazing that a place like Liverpool was just able to make it into the top ten.
In terms of favorite European destinations, London made it into the third spot. The only two places that beat out London were Paris and Rome. Barcelona, on the other hand, was able to bring home the 4th spot.
Emma Boyle, who is a spokeswoman for TripAdvisor, said that the tourism industry is a big part of the UK economy. It is very encouraging to see a place like London recognized by world travelers. This goes double since London is preparing for the 2012 Olympic games. It is important for the city to be viewed so highly by world travelers.
