Just recently, one of the largest travel sites on the internet, TripAdvisor, announced that it has bought out Where I’ve Been. The site offers detailed interactive world maps that allow its users to share where they have been, lived and where they would like to go at some point in their lives.

Where I’ve Been is a company that is based in Chicago and was founded by Craig Ulliott and Michael Dalesandro. One thing that users praise the site for is its Facebook applications. These apps allow over 10 million people to actually create color-coded travel maps. With these maps, people are able to share and upload stories with each other.

Most experts think that TripAdvisor has made a great move in purchasing this site. They said that, by buying Where I’ve Been, they are offering people another way to get interactive with online travel sites. In fact, most travel experts admit that online travel sites have to come up with more ways to get people to interact with their sites. Buy doing this, they make their sites more accessible to a wider range of people.

Also, buying a site like Where I’ve Been makes TripAdvisor stand out from the other competition. In a world where the internet is flooded with tons of different travel companies, these travel sites need a way to attract people to their sites. The best way to do that is to make these sites engaging in a way that other sites are not.
