Hilton Announces New Booking Tool
Tiffany PhillipsA new announcement that has come out from Hilton Hotels states that they will be launching a mobile web application that will offer its customers full booking capabilities. Right now this is only for the UK and Germany, but will someday roll out globally.
This new booking tool created by Mobile Travel Technologies allows travelers to book hotels right from their iPhone. Travelers can also do things like search and select hotels, view hotel information, and even look at images.
David Boni from Hilton Hotels says that, by launching these local Mobile services for Hilton customers, the UK and Germany will have access to, not only improved customer service, but it will also create a new distribution channel for their product.
This new booking tool is to be an iPhone download and take advantage of the iPhone multi-touch technology. Hilton Hotel leisure users and business users alike will now have the advantage of very quick bookings.
Now that network data speeds are increasing and smart phones are taking a very large chunk of the new mobile device sales, mobile searches like this just seem to be the next step. This goes double for the travel market, which needs a new boost right now to get people traveling again. The easier it is to allow people to book and go on trips, the more likely people will do so.
Hilton Hotels hopes that they can come up with more and more new booking tools for its customers to use in the future. Although this new application is only for the UK and Germany now, other places will be able to take advantage of its technology later on.
