Premier Inn Signs Deal to Roll Out Across Oman

Premier Inn, the largest brand of hotels in the United Kingdom, has continued their expansion globally by signing a joint venture that will roll out their mid-market chain throughout Oman. This deal marks a strategic partnership between Premier Inn Hotels and the Sultan of Oman. The joint venture between the hotel brand and Emirates is Premier Inn’s plan to open 3 hotels during 2010 in the country. The initial target areas are Salalah, Sohar, and Muscat, and the first development phase is anticipated to involve a US$95 million investment in itself.

This decision came after the successful year that Premier Inn Hotels had with opening in Dubai. The hotel brand is planning on having 6,000 rooms throughout the Gulf in 2012 with the new joint venture, which is established in order to develop the brand through the Middle East.

Colin Elliot, the Chief Operating Officer, International for Whitbread, the owner of Premier Inn, said that they are happy with the chance to introduce and bring their unique offering of first class service and excellent accommodations at budget prices. Premier Inn Hotels in Dubai has set a benchmark in the budget hotel sector through offering rates starting as cheap as £83 a room per night, he continued, and keeping this strategy of prices and forging partnerships throughout the region will give the brand more weight on their commitment to be the main brand in the value hotel sector of the region.

The first hotel from the brand in the region was developed in Dubai Investments Park, featuring 308 rooms, a bar and restaurant, a Costa Coffee outlet, a whirlpool bath, and a swimming pool on the roof.
