Airline Passenger Dies on Air France Flight with Broken Air Conditioning
Abi BrayReports have now come in that show that a man has died on an Air France plane that was reportedly very hot. According to the passengers on the plane, the air conditioning system was not working properly. They were allegedly told by the cabin staff that there was currently not enough power to run the air conditioning until the plane was in the air and the engines were turned on.
Once the plane was in the air, the air conditioning started to work and the cabin started to cool down quickly. However, an 85-year-old man from Western Australia became seriously ill. There were doctors on the plane, but unfortunately the man became sicker.
One passenger on the plane claims that the plane was just outrageously hot, and the conditions were just unbearable for even him, never mind an 85-year-old man. The plane, which was operating on a code share with Qantas, was diverted after the death of the man to Bucharest.
Once on the ground, attempts to revive the man were started, but they were unsuccessful. It was later said that the man was believed to have had a heart attack. It still remains unclear if the high temperatures had anything to do with the man’s death.
A spokesman for Qantas said that Air France, the carrier operating the flight at the time, said that they had an auxiliary power failure following the plane’s emergency landing in Burcharest. However, there were no issues with the craft before departure. Air France went on to insist that the air conditioning failure and the death of the man are two separate things.
