EasyJet Expanding Its Activities At Liverpool John Lennon Airport
The budget carrier EasyJet has announced the addition of a new Airbus A320 plus two new medium-haul air connections from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, providing air service to holiday hotspots in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
The larger Airbus aircraft joins the fleet of the internet-based carrier current eight A319 Airbuses, which means that it will have a total of 9 planes being based and operated at Liverpool John Lennon airport.
The news represents a second expansion of the Liverpool service after Bordeaux, Dubrovnik and Naples came onto the radar earlier this year, offering a total to 23 European destinations.
The expansion of service will be good news for the EasyJet Liverpool employees and to the millions of Liverpool travellers who choose the budget carrier every year.
EasyJet UK commercial manager Trevor Spinks said the start of service of the new and larger aircraft plus the new connections to the Canary Islands are a reflection of the company’s on-going commitment to the 22.5 million passengers who have used the airline to travel during the past 12 years.
Spinks said that the company has taken into consideration customer feedback which was asking for extra international sunny destinations and the carrier is confident the two new Canaries connections will be hugely successful. He added that the company is planning to continue its expansion and offering increased travelled options to travel enthusiasts in the North of England.
Head of PR for Peel Airports Robin Tudor commented that EasyJet has been a key contributor to the airport’s success and expects this to continue in the future.
Tudor said that EasyJet’s growth at the airport will provide Liverpool passengers more frequencies and options.
The new Fuerteventura route started its activities on Monday 2nd November, with three flights a week with prices set at as low as £39.99 for a one-way ticket, including taxes.
As for the Lanzarote rout, it begins on Tuesday 3rd November will be set at three times week. Prices start as low as £40.99 for a one-way ticket, including taxes.
