Choice Hotels International and Expedia Enter into New Agreement

It now seems that the two well known companies, Expedia and Choice Hotels International, have just recently entered into a new three year agreement. This new agreement will now see Choice Hotels International properties included on more than 80 Expedia and Hotels.com branded sites that the online travel company operates worldwide. Thus, it is easy to see how this agreement could be beneficial to both parties.

The CEO of Expedia, Dara Khosrowshahi, said that they are pleased to be working with Choice Hotels International in this new agreement, which does respect the guiding principles in which Expedia operates. Dara Khosrowshahi went on to welcome Choice Hotels International back into their marketplace, and they look forward to delivering value to their franchisees.

The president and CEO of Choice Hotels International, Stephen P. Joyce, said that the two companies have worked together to established a new agreement that is mutually beneficial. He added that it enables hotels in the Choice Hotels International system to effectively manage their businesses.

Hotels within the Choice Hotels International system can participate in the Expedia marketplace and, within a week, will start to being available on Expedia and Hotels.com sites around the world. Later on they will also make their way to Hotwire.com.

This is good news for Choice Hotels International, which, like many other hotel brands, is struggling to find a place in this new travel economy. Although some hotels are reporting a pick up in profits or guests, it will still be quite sometimes before the hotel industry sees a good recovery. Choice Hotels International is hoping this new agreement could give them a little boost.
