Hilton Hotels Signs Middle Eastern Agreement
Helen YoungHilton Hotels has signed a Strategic Development Agreement (non-exclusive) with Abdulmohsen Al-Hokair Group for Tourism and Development. The deal has a potential to develop 13 Hilton Garden Inn hotels to comprise of 2,500 guest rooms. The properties will be under management from Hilton Hotels and will be located in key spots across Saudi Arabia. The first of the properties is expected to open in Riyadh next year.
This agreement marks the first Hilton Garden Inn, which is the focused service brand of the group, to enter the region of Africa and the Middle East. During the next 5 years, the Al-Hokair and Hilton Hotels plan to bring Hilton Garden Inn hotels into Saudi Arabia. Locations of the hotels include: Al Khobar, Riyadh, Dammam, King Abdullah Economic City, Jubail, Taif, Tabuk, Abha, Yanbu, and Hail/Buraydah.
Jean-Paul Herzog, the President of Hilton Hotels in the Middle East and Africa, said that the full Hilton Family spectrum of hotels gives great growth opportunities in all of the markets worldwide. They are happy to sign their first multi-unit agreement for entering the Hilton Garden Inn brand into Saudi Arabia with the Al-Hokair Group, he continued, and the deal is a testament to the great potential of growth of the country.
Sami Al-Hokair, the Executive Vice President at the Al-Hokair Group, says that they are happy to be partnering with Hilton Hotels on the multi-unit deal in Saudi Arabia. The global experience and presence of this leading hospitality group gives the Al-Hokair Group confidence that the alliance is going to be a huge success, he added.
