South Africa Tourism Industry Awaits World Cup

It now seems that South Africa’s tourism industry is eagerly awaiting the World Cup. Experts say that the World Cup should bring a massive jolt in sales as football fans make a dash to South Africa to see their favorite teams.

Of course, many people who have gone to the World Cup in other areas of the world in other years have already been buying up hotels, because they know that the hotels will go fast. Many of these people who have already booked hotels will be looking to finalizing their details. Some hotels have already reported that their phones have been going crazy.

The tournament itself will finally kick off on June 11th, with the finals coming July 11th. The company that is expected to take more fans to their destination in South Africa this year than any other group is Thomas Cook Sport. Reports show that Thomas Cook Sport packages are selling out fast, and any travelers that want one will have to act faster.

One of the Thomas Cook Sport packages that is selling out the fastest is its seven night Football Experience Package. This is a deal in which fans get their money back if England wins and Wayne Ronney is top scorer player in the tournament. Of course, with a deal like that, Thomas Cook Sport will only be giving away a limited amount of these deals.

Over the course of the World Cup, 63 matches will be played. These games will be played all over South Africa including Polokwane and Cape Town. The final game will be held in Johannesburg on July 11th. Any city that will be hosting a match this year can expect a big boost in their tourism numbers due to the games. This is good news for an industry that has been struggling due to the recession.
