Superdry Coming To Dublin Airport
Stewart PerryClothing brand Superdry schedules an airport presence in Dublin next year. The move will represent the company’s first standalone shop in Republic of Ireland
The young UK fashion brand Superdry will launch the shop in early 2010.
The 200sq m (2,152sq ft) fashion retailer will take up two units at the airport and will be operated as part of a McArthurGlen Luxury Retail Collezioni concept.
London’s Gatwick airport was introduced with one Superdry shop last July. Both airports locations will feature a range of fashion accessories for both women and men.
Brian Collie, chairman of McArthurGlen Luxury Retail explained that Superdry is a highly relevant brand which will generate a trendy and urban touch to Collezioni. He added that Dublin’s fashionable loving travellers will be thrilled at the opportunity to shop at Ireland’s first stand-alone Superdry.
Mark Banchansky, retail strategy director at Dublin Airport Authority, said the facility is very pleased to greet Superdry to Dublin Airport as a new retail option. This launch with Collezioni will provide yet another great fashion brand to complement the existing and superb mix at the Terminal 1’s Loop, offering a special shopping experience for the airport’s passengers.
Superdry Clothing was officially launched in 2003 and is now one of the UK’s fastest growing fashion brands. It began as Laundry Athletics in Cheltenham and the company subsequently opened its first stand-alone shop under the name of Superdry in London’s Covent Garden.
A nationwide expansion in the UK of the Superdry took place in 2008 with shops being opened in major cities all over the country. Superdry fashion is now on offer in more than 20 countries. The clothing fuses pseudo-Japanese text with vintage Americana fabrics.
