AirAsia celebrate 8th birthday
Robert JonesSoutheast Asian based low-cost carrier, AirAsia, is celebrating it’s 8th
birthday by announcing the launch of new promotional all-in fares starting
from £1.24 for domestic flights within Malaysia and just under £5 for
international routes.
Travellers must book the promotional fares on AirAsia’s website between the
8th and 13th of December for travel between the 5th of July and 30th of
October 2010. The special fares are sold on a first come, first served
basis as it does with all of its promotions, so the early bird catches the
worm.
The special AirAsia fares are for flights to cities around Asia including
Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bali, Phuket, Taipei, Hanoi,
Trichy, Abu Dhabi, Macau, Hong Kong and more.
Southeast Asia’s largest low-cost carrier today flies about 120 routes over
60 destinations, and has already carried over 75 million passengers. Its
fleet has grown from humble beginnings of just two aircraft to approximately
82.
The airline has established operations based not only in Malaysia, but also
Indonesia and Thailand, and a network that stretches across China, India,
Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Australia, and last year celebrated the
launch of its new low-cost long-haul affiliate carrier, AirAsiaX, which
flies to destinations in China, Australia, Taipei, the UK and Abu Dhabi,
with plans to commence services to Seoul and Sydney next year.
AirAsia has already won several prestigious industry awards including this
year’s Best Low Cost Airline in the annual World Airline Survey by Skytrax.
