Flyglobespan passengers getting extra help from easyJet
Helen YoungEasyJet, the largest airline in the UK, announced it was stepping in after rival budget carrier Flyglobespan revealed last week that it was suspending its operations.
In a bid to assist stranded passengers who are far away from home, the company is extending its own recue package to ensure these travelers may return home to the UK in time for Christmas celebrations with their families.
EasyJet is offering a special rescue package for only £60 (including all charges and taxes) for those Flyglobespan customers who are stuck in Switzerland, Mainland Spain, France, the Balearics and Portugal. This package is available until December 24.
The airline has also extended this service to those stranded in Cyprus, Egypt, Madeira and the Canaries for a special fee of £80 (including all charges and taxes). Again, this recue package is good until December 24.
The carrier had previously announced that that it was offering a rescue package for £60 (including charges and taxes) for passengers who were supposed to fly on overlapping service with Flyglobespan. These include flights to Glasgow from Faro, Malaga and Alicante as well as flights between Geneva and Edinburgh. These are available until December 30.
Easyjet did want passengers to know that onward travel upon arrival at the airport will be carried out at their own expense.
The budget airline has informed that all passengers wishing to take advantage of these special seats must give their Flyglobespan booking number to the agent as well as present their Flyglobespan booking confirmation when they will check-in at the airport as extra proof of booking.
