World Travel Market Appoints Simon Press to Exhibition Director

According to reports, the World Travel Market has just announced that it has promoted Simon Press to the role of Exhibition Director. Simon, who will replace Craig Moyes, has been with Reed Exhibition for three years working as Exhibition Director on World Travel Market’s sister exhibition Arabian Travel Market. Then last year Simon became the Head of Sales of the World Travel Market.

The World Travel Market Chairman, Fiona Jeffery, said that they are delighted to welcome Simon to the position of World Travel Market Exhibition Director. He has extensive experience in the exhibition industry and a proven track record. His passion for innovation and creativity allied to a strong show management background will further strengthen the World Travel Market’s position as the premiere global event for the travel industry. Having worked on the World Travel market for the past 12 months, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, he is well placed to carry on the good work of Craig Moyes.

Back in 2004, Simon moved to Emap, working as an event manager with responsibility for a retail technology exhibition. Simon takes the role of World Travel Market Exhibition Direct at a very exciting time for the exhibition. This event will benefit from the £165 million expansion of ExCeL.

The travel market as a whole is doing everything that it can to keep its head above water during these troubled times. Although experts are predicting that 2010 will be a better year and show some improvement, the same experts are suggesting caution to anyone in the travel industry. It will not take much to bring the very fragile state of the travel market crashing down.
