China Airlines new London-Taipei service
Abi BrayCommercial carrier China Airlines has announced that it will introduce regular scheduled non-stop service between Taiwan and Britain.
The airline as reveald that non-stop flights will now connect Taipei airport to Terminal 4 at London’s Heathrow airport with a launch date planned for March 28, 2010.
China Airlines, the flagship carrier of Taiwan – aka the Republic of China, will offer the new service with a frequency of three times a week and will provide to its customers 246 seats in economy class as well as 30 business class seats.
Before the introduction of this service, passengers in the United Kingdom had to fly through Amsterdam in order to use China Airlines.
The airline has already revealed its schedule for the route. From Heathrow airport, flights will depart Terminal 4 at 21:15 GMT on Tuesdays and Sundays, and will arrive at Taipei’s Tayoyuan International Airport the following day at 18:15. The carrier will also offer a flight departing Heathrow on Thursdays, which will depart Terminal 4 at 22:05 and will arrive in Taipei the following day at 19:05.
The initial fares released by the carrier begin at GBP585 (including taxes) for a return flight from London Heathrow to Taipei in low season.
