EasyJet Market Study Shows Businesses Waste Money
Tiffany PhillipsEasyJet, the biggest airline in the United Kingdom, as revealed results of an independent study which shows the low cost carrier under a favourable light.
According to the carrier, the research demonstrated easyJet provides businesses with important savings on short-haul journeys, and also shows that the carrier offers customers more than £100 savings per return trip on most routes when prices are compared with rival carriers.
ITM Research was commissioned by easyJet to carry out this research which used data gathered from actual trips made by business travellers who were employed by global corporations in the financial, consultancy and business services sectors. The survey used information from companies all over the United Kingdom, Germany as well as several other European Markets.
Researchers tabulated 561 itineraries which were randomly chosen over a 10 week period during the fourth quarter of last year.
It was demonstrated that in a most instances, easyJet still provided important cost savings overall on each journey, even when booking fees and costs involving speedy boarding where considered. Still, all of the 561 trips in the survey were booked with rival airlines.
EasyJet UK general manager Paul Simmons said that corporations are continuing to squander money with high-fare carriers. However, he said that the results of the research clearly indicate that easyJet offers a better value.
EasyJet has designed its product and service offering in order to appeal to the business traveler, Simmons said. This means the carrier offers frequent flights to key business destinations.
The study also demonstrated that most UK domestic return trips booked with easyJet could have save the traveller over £100 even on a domestic trip.
