HRS.com Suggests Larger Hotels Need Better Value for Money
Helen YoungAccording to the HRS.com’s Hotel Excellence Awards, no large hotel won the prize for Best Value for Money Hotel. Thus, the director of HRS.com, which is a leading online hotel booking system, said that large hotels need to look more closely at the value for money.
The HRS.com director for the UK and Ireland, Jon West, said that he was very surprised that there wasn’t anybody that showed that excellence, as far as large hotels go. He said that this doesn’t mean to say that people did not try to enter. They just did not feel that any of them warranted being put onto the short list of excellent hotels.
Jon West also went on to add that he cannot believe that large hotels are not trying to offer value for money. Most customers just have to assume that these hotels are doing so. Thus, it’s really a matter of the hotels communicating and making sure they get the opportunity to be recognized. He finished up by saying that he thinks hotels certainly should be looking more into telling everyone about their value for money and sharing their best practice.
West has encouraged more hotels to enter the category next year. He said that they are doing something good, and they should let people know about it. He said that this is the chance for hotels to share their best practices with the world.
The Best Value for Money prize for a small hotel went to the Five Arrows. Most other categories had a winner for both a large, more than 50 rooms, and a small hotel.
